The three hottest wines in the market

You've been a busy 1st timer here winesecrets. Hopefully one of the moderators removes your tag-line ad. And we also normally use the topic line to convey what is in the post. I'm still trying to figure out the "three hotest wines in the market" are. WW

I'm a buyer, not a maker; but I do enjoy others' homemades.

IMHO the hottest wines these days with a very broad brush are: Riesling, anything with bubbles, anything Italian.

I'm just curious about what people consider to be the three hottest wines in the market. I believe it's Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Carignan. But do let me know if you think it's something else.

Admiting that my three choices were based on gut feeling rather than any scientific/economic data. I can't agree with your choices.

Merlot sales are way off. Cabernet sales are steady but at much lower price points. Carignan is being used more and more, partiularly in blends, but can hardly be called "hot."

You may be right. :-) So many kinds of wines have been sprouting in the market in recent years and my three favorites have gone down the ladder of "hotness". No matter, they still remain to be the standards of most wines I believe.
