1999 Shenandoah, Zingiovese, Amador County, California, $13, 627 cases. Cherry, dried cherry, earthiness and cedar aromas and flavors are enhanced by chocolate, coffee and lively acidity. A real mouthful for the price. 87/90.

Sounds great...I'll bite, what's Zingiovese,
Zinfandel and Sangiovese?

I would have named it an equally annoying name like Sangiodel or Sanvandel or Zinfandese or the real topper Zinfangiodesevese. Ugh!

Relax ww, I am back to work tonight--Monday. It was a great eight days. The Finger Lakes region is having spectacular weather; all my fruit trees are bearing, as are the berry bushes; my fig trees made it through the winter and I am eyeing some nice large figs that will be ready in a few weeks; and on and on.

In fact, I should retire; has anyone suggestions on how to do that without money? Maybe I could go into the wine-naming business???

Foodie- Just do what i did.... find something you enjoy doing, can get paid well at, keep your expenses down, and work as few hours as necessary.

Semi-retired at 36, and drinking great wine!
