Very similar to the XVI: Fruit-forward, with definite Eucalyptus and baking spice notes. Walks a very cool tight-rope between big and elegant, California cool and rustic.
Very good, would have been great if I was drinking this back in Stinson.

VH, do you know what grapes make up the blend?

There are a ton of different grapes in it. If I recall, it lists Sangiovese, syrah, viognier, roussanne, mourvedre and carignan "to name just a few."

It changes yearly as well.

To me it tastes like a slightly dirty Gigondas made in the Cotes de Nuit inside a eucalyptus grove.

That's a pretty cool description...

I like my wine a little on the dirty side...just like my _________________.
