1998 Primus, Carmenere, Veramonte, Casablanca Valley, Chile, $20. A blend of 85% Carmenere and 15% Cabernet Sauvignon. Green olive, mint, and muted black fruit aromas lead to an exotic array of flavors. Blackberry, bacon, spice, and a healthy dose of green peppercorn flavors combine to make a nicely balanced, intriguing wine. Good value. Imported by Franciscan Estates.

Hi Theonlywineguy, and welcome to the Wine Board. Your post comes under a very good recommendation. If you want something at a lower pice point, look for a Mendoza Malbec from Argentina. Good ones can he had for around $10.00, and IMHO these could be next big rage. Of course, if that happens, the price will go up.
