I was looking up Argyle Nuthouse Pinot Noir (Oregon) and came across the www.avalonwine.com website. It's an online wine shop (Pacific Northwest Wine and Gourmet) but has links to more detailed information on the wineries and wines listed. I looked up Ponzi and it has quite an article on Luisa Ponzi, the second generation winemaker and the family philosophy of winemaking. I have mentioned that at the February Ponzi wine dinner I liked the regular Willamette Valley pinor noir better than the reserve. Luisa says in the article that they make the regular bottling to be fruit forward and pleasant at release, while the reserve can be tight and not very giving since it is intended to age.
She says it turns into something pretty special after about five years. I also looked up Snoqualmie from Washington. You can search under Oregon, Washington, or red wine varieties, or white wine varieties. They also took a cue from amazon.com (avalon, amazon, wonder if they are partners) and tell you that people that bought this particular pinot noir, also bought this one and that one.

They've been around for quite a while and are a good source of PNW wines.
