I've been sipping on this for the last half-hour or so and the effects are just rippling across my tongue. It's a blend of Pinot Gris (51%), Riesling (40%) and Gewürtztraminer (9%). On the nose, I can pick out the Riesling a bit more than the other two varietals, although I admit I'm much less familiar with Pinot Gris and Gewürtz. In your mouth, the three grapes taste like they've been working together throughout time ... beautiful round citrus fruit along with some apple and pear, enough acid to keep a balance, pleasantly spicy and hot on the long finish. A mineral component as well. We were serving this by the glass at Trio; after tasting it I had to run to the store to get a couple bottles for myself.
13.5%, $17 at Whole Foods.
