Posting TNs re: a Canadian wine is just about as bad as Bucko's last "dry party" posting...it-was-nice-but-you-can't-have-any. In any case, here goes:

This was an orphan from our sojourn in BC. Pale straw color. Light aroma of peach. Very pleasant flavors of apple, honey & a mix of citrus/tropical/floral notes that I couldn't sort out individually. Refreshing acidity mid-palate & into the finish. Clean, pleasant, fruit finish.

This is NOT a cool climate wine...just south of the 'Golden Mile' Okanagan wine area where Gehringer is located is the northernmost desert in N. America...plenty o' heat in summer. However, the immigrant German Gehringer brothers do very nice wines that reflect German style in a warmer climate. Find some if ya' can.

IMHO Canada does the best riesling outside of Germany (Mosel) and Alsace.

And that alone, CCK, is reason enough for you to keep makin' those trips north! I imagine Bucko might add, "It's an acidity thing."

At this point I turn away muttering under by breath about the world's longest unguarded border being such an effective barrier to wine, etc. In any case, I'm still a Cannuck wine fan. cp
