2005 Prejean, Finger Lakes, Marechal Foch ($8.49 Bremer’s). Alcohol level: 13.5%. This was the first Foch that we’ve popped in a very long time. We were not disappointed.

It gave blackberries and currents on the nose and upfront. There was more fruit in the medium-full somewhat complex middle, along with smooth tannin and very crisp acidity. The finish was pleasant.

We matched it with grilled loin ends Teriyaki, rice, and salad vinaigrette. The wine went very well with the whole dinner including the salad.

That's great IK, another Marechal Foch fan! As I grew up in Toronto and we use to have some producers that use to do it, I got to like it. pretty much everytime I see a bottle, I'll pick one up (which is about once a year... don't see much of it).. There is a high end winery out in BC that does it and it is always one of the wines that sell out first and they all sell out!
