1999 Manatawny Creek Winery, Pennsylvania, Dolcetto ($11.00). Incidentally manatawny is th Native American word for, "where we meet to drink." This is a light, but well balanced and very flavorful dolcetto. Abundent fruit upfront and on the nose, spicy and acidic flavors across the palate, and a sweet finish. Married very nicely with Italian sausage hogies, green beans in the Italian style, cherry tomatoes vinaigrette, and raspberries with whipped cream. The acid in the wine carried right through the tomatoes and the dessert, and the dolcetto was delightful by itself as well.
