Touraine primeur

Shoot, I misplaced the name of the producer, but it doesn't matter that much because it would be a little too late to drink this anyway.
In any case, this was a 2002 Touraine gamay, and it was much better than both of the Beaujolais Nouveaux I tasted. Strong scent of vanilla. Fruit-forward, very light, but with some depth on the tongue. A short finish, but overall pretty decent for a primeur.
I also tasted a regular Beaujolais Nouveau and a Beaujolais-Villages Nouveau, and the latter was distinctively less vile than the former.
Sorry for the tardiness of this post, I should have done it back in November when it was more pertinent.
However, I think it's interesting to point out that Beaujolais is NOT the only primeur out there; it's weird that it's the only one that you hear about in the States. Around here there were plenty of primeurs, including a Rhône, the aforementioned Touraine, a Cheverny, etc.
