Bottled by Bodegas y Vinedos del Jalon
Dominacion de Origen Calatayud, Spain
100% Garnacha/Grenache grape
13% alcohol
Sells in the $7.00-$8.00 per bottle range
Imported by the Henry Wine Group, Benicia, CA
Label notes mountainside vineyards, high altitude (2500 ft.) and dry climate. Fermented/aged in concrete tanks. Unoaked.
Rosy color--bright and attractive with some transparency. Red berry nose and flavors. Label says crisp, dry wine with strawberry flavors but I would add maybe not quite ripe strawberries with some pomegranate as well. Pleasant and food friendly with chicken or ground beef dishes. Might be nice paired with ratatouille but I haven't tried that combo yet. I would purchase again.
