2002 Philippe Raimbault, Apud Sariacum, Sancerre Rose' ($14.99 Chambers Street Wines). Perfect afternoon quaffer with one's feet up, gazing at comings and goings in North Head, Grand Manan harbor out the window of one's B&B room; after a three hour kayak tour finishing into the wind. Just as Sancerre Rouge is made from pinot noir, so is the rose'. Makes for a refreshing yet tart wine, that leaves you on the sober side of things at 12.5% alcohol. We were able to regroup and go out for four course gourmet dinner with a half liter of red swill I'd rather not mention. Would have preferred the Sancerre Rose' even with the maincourse roast beef covered with shrimp and béarnaise sauce. Sigh!
