3 of us shared a 375 ($29)

The common notes of the night:

The color of apple cider.

Happy Sun-soaked apricot pie with cardamon and cinnamon. Really nice body. Plenty of intensity and weight, yet seems pretty light on its feet.
Very long finish and enough acidity to suggest easily another decade and more of life.

Delicious.

Trying to readup a bit on the Loire. Love the few wines that I've had from this area. Where specifically is this one from? Is it more of a dessert wine?

Bonnezeaux is in the middle part of the valley near Angers. I think that's tecinchally the Anjou section...

Yes, very much dessert-wine, and one of the best I've tasted. Lots of age on these sweet Chenins is a real key. This one was still something of a baby.

I know a couple people have posted about these, but a drier white from the area that is one of my absolute favorites is Savennieres.

And of course, Vouvray! Lots of the 2002's are lovely, and the 05's will be, but aren't ready yet.
