I would like a suggestion for a wine to serve with crab. I am looking for a bottle priced $15 or under a bottle.

Iron Horse Blanc de Blancs Sparkling wine from California or any decent Champagne from France you may prefer...

Any Alsatian Pinot Gris, any FRENCH Chablis, and as was previously mentioned a decent California semi-dry Riesling or any eqivalent from New York State or from Germany.

Lots of choices for that crab........

But if you serve the crab in its natural state; steamed with lots of OLD BAY Seasoning, then the drink of choice becomes any decent beer - Sam Adams, Anchor Steam, Yuengling or any such micro you can find that you like.

With steamed Dungeness crab that we enjoy here in the great PNW, we usually have it with simple drawn butter. This is one of the few times that I enjoy a nice MLF CA or WA Chardonnay such as Waterbrook or Handley.

Bucko, the Waterbrook is a good suggestion. You surprise me sometimes!!! Oh, and for the record, crab is one dish I do not like with Riesling; just in case Gluckman is watching. ...

Yes, the Avenger himself (who just got married to a German lady -- and a Riesling fan -- in the produce section of the Fairway Market on the Upper West Side of Manhattan.

The NYT did not mention the celebratory wines for the nuptials, however!

Cheers,
