Ah, Georgie, it's nice to have such unbounded optimism. However, look at tonight's pitching. The Cards are throwing Jeff Suppan (12-7 4.12 ERA) against Oliver Perez (5-18 6.16 ERA). Granted, they're both 1-0 in the series, but Suppan is there with a 0.00 ERA and Perez has a 7.94 ERA.

Let's not forget that Perez had an ERA of over 5.00 during his long stint in the MINORS this year...
Only way Mets win is if they beat up Suppan, who's been hot and cold on the road.

GO CARDS! (The Tigers will slaughter either NL team... but still!)

Holy smokes! This game 7 is a killer. What a championship series. Bases loaded, one out, bottom of the sixth, game tied....

How about that catch, robbing the Cardinal of a homer? Pretty good baseball.

Superb series! Very classy baseball. Thought the Mets could hang on. Snoozed in the 9th, only to have her wake me with "Game's over, time to go to bed!" Wha'? Wha' hoppen? (sniff)

It was a heartbreaker. I'm in mourning...I took down my big Mets flag from the classroom...it'll go back up on opening day. (and I hope the Tigers maul the feathers off those tweeters.) And (although it has nothing to do with talent)at least the Mets are good-LOOKING guys. I couldn't have watched those Cardinals all season. eeuw.

Just don't do anything rash. In 1969 we were living in the city as I was teaching ROTC at NYU. That was the year NY beat Balt. in everything. Broadway Joe beat the Colts in the Superbowl. The Knicks beat whatever the Balt team was, and of course the Mets beat the Orioles in the World Series.

Later that fall we visited Bev's cousin in Baltimore. Her husband was an FBI Agent. We parked our car with NY plates in front of their house. The next morning all four tires were slashed!
