Just thought I'd tell you folks, if you note an air of familiarity between myself and californiagirl - she's my daughter. Out of the three kids, she's the wine geek. Her goal is to open a wine shop in the next few years - in Northern California surrounded by multiple BevMos, Safeways, Albertsons, Raleys, Luckys, etc. Tell her what she's in for, Foodie.

Love you Dad... not quite my plan though! Remember??? It's that selective memory thing, huh? I want to open a wine bar/store. Do the tasting thing with 2oz, 4oz, 1/2 bottle, full bottle... flights, etc... nouveau h'ors d'ourves... mini deserts. Wine available for sale, also. I know, I know... latest and greatest craze, but won't last long.

By the way KC, you can't do those things at any of those stores! Accept bevmo, they have tastings on Saturdays for $.25, wine and beer.

Good luck with your plans CalGirl. I'm glad you will be planning to provide food choices with the tastings. I love going to Enoteca Vin in Raleigh which has both full dinners and what they call small bowls and also offers pours from 1.5 oz. to 5 oz. or you can purchase a bottle. Sometimes I stop in there to have one or two small pours and then go to another restaurant for dinner, but usually I do have dinner there because they have a great female chef.

CG - let me know when the store is open and where it is.

I have family in Sacramento who are all wine drinkers. I'm sure they would stop by and say hello!

WW, don't they have BevMo in arizona? Check out their site, it tells you what's going on for the next 3-4 weeks.

I can see it now--a family wine and food bar. Makes me think of John Belushi and his famous cheeseboodger counter, only this one will offer a glass of Boordgurndy with beefboordgournoin!

One more winter here and I might apply for a job.

Hey calgirl, are you coming to the Glenora bash in May with your aging dad???

She doesn't even know about it. By the way, Foodie, is there a final count of people coming to Glenora?

KC, I'm checking out a new winebar in Rocklin tomorrow night called Eureka & Vines Wine Bar. I'll let you know all about it on Sunday.

No Bev-Mors here in the desert CalGirl. Our best deal is a 2-buck pour(not Chuck) of 2ozs. WW

The last count I remember was 16. Maybe Glenora can elaborate.

The bad news: I will be in the middle of renovating our kitchen--still want the Sunday gathering at the ranch, if possible, but if the weather does not cooperate, cooking indoors will be, well, I won't be able to without a kitchen...

So, that gathering here will be weather-related.
