Removing labels

I realize that this has come up before, but it's been a while. I will soon be bottling my homemade wine and I want to remove the labels from the bottles I've collected. I have no concern about saving the labels, just removing them so that I can put my own labels on the bottle. Any suggestions that will make this go faster and easier would be appreciated.

Use a single edge razor blade, and finish the job with baby wipes.

Catch, Ik`s rite on except it works much slicker if you soak in hot water aforehand. winoweenie

Get thee to a hardware store or grocer! There's a magical potion called "Goo Gone" that is fantastic for removing labels of all sorts. It has a pleasant citrus aroma. Just apply, wait, and wipe. No scraping. though you will need to wash it off thoroughly before applying a new label...

Now that you have established how to remove them completely, what is a method to remove them so they can be saved?

Actually, probably because of people properly keeping their wines in humid conditions, or for whatever; wineries have taken to gluing their labels on with all sorts of noxious, water resistent stuff. This makes it very difficult to collect wine labels.

Saw something at Sportsmans` yesterday that claims not only to remove labels but laminate them too. JOCK....tell these cretins the name. winoweenie
