Current issue (30 Nov 2000) of Wine Spectator contains articles on the Beaujolais of Georges Duboeuf and the wines of the Languedoc. Those could easily now get marked up another 20% at retail.

As a defence we are selling (about twenty cases and hour and half of that shipping) of a nice Primitivo di Tarantino IGT 1996 that got a "best buy" from them at $8.99........

for $2.99 a bottle!!!!!!!!

The Spectator is the LAST place to look for value because they refuse to EVER talk about the actual market for wines, which is always churning and burning and consolidating and only your local merchant has a clue to jump on local opportunity buys.

I'm just happy that they did't rate my favorite 98' Chianti in their most recent issue on Italian wines, or I wouldn't be able to get it as cheap as I do anymore.
