I'm looking for any information concerning toasted wood chips.
These chips are intended to give good taste to wine (like wood barrels).
This technique is forbidden in France (where I work), and I don't find much information.
Can anyone help me know which companies use this technique or sell these products? Where? And how they work?
I'm particularly interested in web site adresses.
Thanks very much,

Bonjour Bourbon, and welcome to the Wine Board. If you're wondering why you're hearing the sounds of silence around here, it is because we have a dearth of oak fans on the board including moi. However, we know that Jack Daniel's Distillery chops up their charred oak barrels and sells the chips to the grilling and wine making communities. They do not sell directly from the distillery, and do not sell what other products they have outside the USA. Have looked around the web, and can't find the chips there. You might check with grilling and winemaking suppliers.
