Hardys have come up with unthinkable, not a pop idol, but a wine idol!

Its a competition launched in August to seek the young entushiastic approach to wine - good. But why call it 'Wine Idol?'

I'm sure you guys have witnessed some of the manufactured TV nonsense like popstars, pop idol, X-factor where music celebs search for the next Britney Spears/Justin Timbersnake. Wine is cool but not in the music world it should be a jazz classic, or Jaco Pastorius but not POP!

Anyway, i'll shock you

I've entered into the comp.

But hear me out - the benefits are huge, I can finally take my diploma for free, travel to Hardys in Oz, enjoy a screen test on UK tv and enjoy a years supply of wine (they say a case a month = a years supply..... howd they come up with that???

They want to make wine young - exactly what i've been doing for a year now with newcastle-wine.co.uk..... one snag:

Im 22, they say the age bracket is 25-35. It seems strange to me, they say their targeting 18-25 but they want a 25-35.... BUT....

Im into stage 2 now - they accepted my age & letter so i'll keep you updated. Let me know what you guys think of this comp, I think its on the hardys website but just search decanter.com etc

You might be talking to a future star....
