Ok, how would you react? I recieved 50$ gift certificate for being a wine member for 2yrs. (25$ per year). I mailed my order total was 32$ no problem so far right? wrong! seems I owe them $7.00 because they only applied 25.00 of my 50.00 gift certificate to the 32.00 total. Had I gone over 50.00 it would have all been applied. huh?
granted, I was not expecting any credit here, but this is ridiculous, especially when it didnt say a minimum purchase of 50.00 was mandatory. I was expecting to owe NOTHING except the shipping. I'll send back my entire order over 7.00 if I have to and to heck with their gift certificate in it's entirety. Can anyone imagine taking a gift certificate in to a store, and them saying I'm sorry you didnt spend the entire amount, so you still owe us?????????

Sorry, Drew, I have to differ with your opinion. This forum is "rants&raves", and the point of posting is to rant or to rave. MM1 chooses to rant about Viansa winery, possibly with good reason. I may not agree with everyone, but I look forward to everyone's opinion.

too true. It IS called rants and raves- as well, it might warn anyone else tempted to redeem such a "savings certificate". WD

Thank you Catch, after all I DID spend some time LOOKING at where I might correctly post a "rant". I don't always rant, I've had nothing but Raves about Viansa to everyone, but I was so disappointed in what they did.

I believe My point Drew was in the form of a question from the beginning, How would you react?

Don't get me wrong, I'm not questioning the right to or not to rant here, you're certainly in the right place. Just the point of the rant. Yours is kinda like a dead end street, leaves us hanging. When you questioned them what was their response? How did they support/defend their position? What was their promise to you from the start in terms of your reward for being a member? It just seems some more info is needed in order to properly respond to the rant. Sorry if I came on too strong, shoulda worded it differently.

MM1, you'll have to forgive Drew a little as normally he's grilling them bad dudes who lie a lot. Musta' had a bad day at the office. If Viansa didn't spell the terms out on their gift certificate, I'd tell them suckers you're not into " bait and switch " tactics. I'm sure a call to their 800 # tomorrow would be positive. WW

Read your terms carefully before you call them back. That ways you can argue with them intelligently. If their terms don't mention anything about using the entire amount of the certificate at a time, and they don't give you any satisfaction, you may wish to inform them your next call will be to the Better Business Bureau. And if they don't provide satisfaction then, CALL the BBB.
