'Twas the Battle of the San Antonio car dealers: Red McCombs' Minnesota Vikings versus Tom Benson's New Orleans Saints. Red is a prominent Ford dealer, and Tom sold his Chevrolet dealership several years ago, but they were arch-rivals in the SA auto market from the'50's through the 80's. Red made his money in oil, cows and Fords, while Tom made his in banks & Chevvies. Pretty neat!

And to top all that off a bit, even though the were still competing against each other -up until yesterday's resounding tromp - they are best of friends.

The TV announcers for yesterday's game gave a few minutes of back ground information on both of them. The car dealerships were among the first things mentioned. Go Vikings!
