Just passed away yesterday, the last of the BeBop giants. Still the most musical drummer on record and a humanitarian, too.

A tremendous talent who defined the art of drumming. Had the honor of playing with him in NY in the late 40s' when my quintet was playng there. Greatest pair of hands with a pair of sticke that ever lived. Kinda' like an Oscar Peterson on his instrument. WW
