I am thinking of a platter with some Gouda, some American Cheddar, and some imported Fontina. Then I am thinking of some imported salami and cappicola. I am also thining of using some of the thinly sliced meat to wrap some figs skewered onto a toothpick along with a piece of melon.....

Then I was thinking that this might go nicely with a bottle of 2004 Silver Oak Napa Valley.

Don't want to serve the wine with dinner, cause dinner will be ham and chicken.

I expect about an hour break between horsey douvers and the main meal, so there should not be a conflict with whatever wine is served with the dinner.

Anybody have any thoughts on this? Thanks!

I think that if you have any Scherrer O&M or Shale Terrace zins these would make a mate that only heaven could arrange. WW
