Cold here too but not like North Dakota! Strawberry growers in North Carolina are worried and even Florida may lose much of the state's crops which will mean shortages and higher prices at the grocery stores.

It is lovely here right now. It is 20 degrees F with light snow and light wind. Since we can't see the "dirty road" from the house, just our snow covered driveway; it is a winter wonderland.

I'd say that is looking at the glass as half full, IK.

I hated to get into this thread as I normally contact each of you indiviually to give you weather reports but Dan has brought up memories that sucked me in. San Diego has set some new records for low nites while I was there so was glad to get back to me beloved desert. Has been in the mid-40s' at nite and high 60s' to low 70s' during the day. My son told me it was going to be 20 BELOW last nite in Minneapolis. Still think I mite insist on a blood test. WW

I ask the same question here while we bask in sub-zero nights (and my gd thermostat decided it would die this weekend).

I just read this morning that what we are experiencing is an arctic high pressure stall that has been a feature of northern hemisphere climate for eons and happens every so often. But it is neither connected to nor does it refute the general warming of the globe, which scientists measure as an aggregate and not as a single year statistic.

This is what I read--not what I know.
