Ok...it's elementary school Halloween #32 for me. I've spent the entire morning just keeping a lid on this group until 1:30 when we get ready for the parade and party. Lawd how I HATE this day! We have so much junk food in this room(I asked for cupcakes and juice ONLY), we could outfit Willie Wonka's factory. I plan to let them eat every bit they want to and hopefully they'll throw up on the way around the neighborhoodthis afternoon. Bah! Humbug!

There's a school in MA that has outlawed Halloween because of religious objections from three parents. You could move there. This is kind of odd since it has been decades that a school has done anything for parents for religious reasons!

Don't tempt me. ALTHOUGH, I have to admit that the kids are really cute and have such a good time. It's keeping them in control up until party time that's tough. Last year I taught an adorable boy named Kevin, who has Asberger's syndrome. Kevin and I share a special bond. Each year, Halloween is too scary and too out-of-routine for Kevin to deal with, so he just stays home. Last week I happened to see his class in the computer lab and asked him about Halloween. He said he would be staying home. I asked, if his teacher allowed it, he would like to walk in the parade with me. I was shocked when he said "yes" and actually came through today! He's ten years old and today is the first time he's ever experienced Halloween. Being with him, and knowing how far he's come, just made my day.
