Well, this is the first Saturday of college football and it started off with a bang!

Appawho? Appalachian State jumped up and bit #5 Michigan right in the hindquarters. David whips Goliath. You gotta luv it.

Now to switch over to Wazoo vs. #7 Wisconsin.

Yeah, I just saw a little of the Appawho bruiser. Battle of the W's is a good one too.

This just beats the bejeebers out of the NFL!

You don't gotta love it if you did your Master's degree at Michigan! The former Michigan players in the NFL are really taking a ribbing from their teammates. (My undergraduate degree however is from U of Nebraska-Lincoln and they destroyed Nevada.) This Saturday the Cornhuskers play Wake Forest in Winston-Salem and I will be there! First, NU ticket office said there was a waiting list for tickets. Then Wake Forest ticket office said at that point they were only selling season tickets. I looked on the 'net and the scalpers wanted well over $100 for a single ticket. I decided to try once again last night and the prices had come down to about half what they were originally asking so I have a ticket coming by overnight FedEx hopefully. Wake Forest won the ACC championship in football last year so may prove a challenge for the 'Huskers. Will try to visit a wine shop in Winston-Salem after the game (they have good selections and host a tasting on Saturdays).

My Sooners have their hands full Saturday -- Miami is coming to town. This will separate the men from the boys. The last three times they've met Miami came out on top.

Whowee! OU done kicked a$$ and took names against Miami -- a little payback for the 1985-87 drubbing.

Nebraska Cornhuskers won too in a close game! I was boiled like a lobster with temps in the 90's. At halftime I stood in a long line to get a bottle of water and they were out of water and ice so I ended up with a warm Diet Pepsi!

I have to say that the Wake Forest fans and citizens of Winston-Salem were really nice. A lot of Nebraska fans came to the game and I heard a lot of "welcome to Winston-Salem" etc.

Next Saturday the Huskers play USC. I'll hope for the best but I'm really nervous about this one.

Oh it was ugly watching my Gophers win on Saturday. I must be a glutton for punishment to be a season ticket holder! They tried hard to let Miami (Ohio) win, but they didn't want the victory either.

The Badgers sure like to cut it close. I sure would like to see a blowout. Hate it when my blood pressure rises over a game.... but damn it, it happens.

Iowa was sticking it to them for a while. I thought they were going to join five others in the top 25 who bit the dust today.

They certainly tired PJ Hill out. Hell of a defense they gave. Thank God we went home with a "W".
