I just saw that the release price of the 04 insignia was going to be $225 a bottle or $1350 a six pack.......Tha's quite the jump from $150 a bottle release price of 2003....a $75 a bottle jump......

ouch.....better off saving money on this one now too...I sure though that they will find plenty of takers though/

Totally ridiculous IMHO. There are too many fine wines under $50 to give them a second look. I'd love to see the wine linger on the shelves...

I agree Bucko, but it will sell out as it always does.

Thank the Lord my cellar is full. By the time my mailing list stuff gets in in October/Nov I'll be busting at the seams as usual. WW

Here's my theory on this. Wines such as Screaming Eagle and others that are just ridiculously priced are for the people who will spend $400,000.00 on an automobile.

I believe in capitalism and if you can get it, go for it.

I'd rather see this than have them over extract it to produce more at a lower price.

Sure, they will lose the base that got them to where they are...but they will have a smaller, elite base.

I agree that it's ridiculous. Cyrus is an incredible meritage that no one see's or pays attention to. I'll stick with the underdogs!
