People often ask me, "Roberto, you make a good living, why do you drive a 38 year old Volvo?". Well, fellow P1800 enthusiast Irv Gordon of Long Island just rolled his over to

2,000,000 MILES on the first engine (rebuilt in 1972)!!!!!!

Mine is still a baby (554,000 miles) and it looks just as cool as his:

older is often better, although compared to yours, my 13 year old pickup is pretty young. I sometimes smile ( though not meanly) as friends' new cars don't start and my little baby turns over every time. : )

Recently retired my old faded 1990 F150. Parked that sucker in the barn, laid the keys on the seat for the foreman, and went and bought another, an '02 F150. Ol' Blue will live out his days chasin' calves across the pasture.

A friend of mine was driving a 30-year old Beetle (the original kind) in Monterey County, CA. When the gas pump guy in Pebble Beach area sneered at her car, she informed him that "Alfred" or whatever she called her car had been to Paris and Rome in his day.
