It is still only 7PM (two hours to go) but we have already had a record day here at the shop and have been running November-ish numbers all week. Someone even invoked the "T" word and bought some wines they had at one of our tastings this week to serve at Thanksgiving!

Maybe things are turning up after all, must be all the pent up hope that Hillary will run for Prez....

(Ducking, laughing, answering the phone), Roberto

Maybe it's "eat, drink, and be merry, for tomorrow you die." Maybe it's the optimism of a Dean/Clark ticket.

I was at an event on Friday evening with an open bar. It was startling to see how many people chose the mediocre red wine over a higher shelf liquor or even chardonnay. They did not seem to me to be a "red wine crowd."

Our experiance over the past year, including last Christmas, is that many more people are drinking red wine than anything else.

Perhaps you guys have been taking advantage of the delay in implementing the federal No-Call list with a little direct marketing campaign?

Right, shortwiner--I can't get off the telephone, with distributor reps calling incessantly, to even think about making a phone call myself...besides, I am too busy selling on the retail floor during the dinner hour, which is, I am told, the best time to make a telemarketing call!
