Didn't watch Beverly Hillbillies, but I was the right age to watch Davy Crockett as a child. One of my ancestors was said to have hunted and trapped with Daniel Boone and I'm related to Mary Todd Lincoln so I have some Kentucky connections. (Also Virginia--my Dad's ancestors moved out to Nebraska to homestead from Winchester, VA as did Willa Cather's family--Dad grew up in Red Cloud, NE which is the setting for several of Cather's novels.)
