This has been a really good weekend for Judy and I. Saturday we went on a date!! It was the first time in two years we've had the opportunity to be just us and just do whatever we wanted, for reasons you all know about. Saturday we slept in real late then went off to Pizzeria Uno for lunch. Then we took off and went to the shop to let Judy pick some stuff. She got some 01 Voss SB, 02 St. Supery SB, 98 Amizetta Merlot and 01 Ravenswood Cab. I know, I know - it was her choice. Next, off to my dad's place to deliver some wine he ordered from the shop. Then off to see Sideways - first movie we've been to in four years. I thought it was pretty good - she didn't see what all the fuss was, even though I pointed out all the places we'd been to - even the same table the actors ate at was where we sat at one of the times we were at the Los Olivos Cafe. Then home and had some Sea Smoke Botella they had at Los Olivos - she liked it! Yesterday we worked on prepping and papering downstairs, while finishing off the Botella and a ClineCA Zin. Then a lasagna dinner with a 03 Tipicita Syrah. Tonight we're grilling some CAB top loin with baked potatoes, but I already mentioned that part. It's been a wonderful weekend. Oh yeah, I gave her a a nice pink sapphire and diamond ring for Valentine's Day. She liked it a lot - I could get lucky.

Hey, WW, I know what Judy likes and what makes her happy (most of the time). When she's happy, I'm happy. Oh yeah, we're also sloooowly sauteing some really sweet Andean onions to go with the grilled steak - and I chose a 2001 The Sisters to go with.

Ah Dad- she deserves it!! Glad you two are enjoying yourselves. We celebrated last night. Watched Blue Comedy tour and Blue Comedy Rides again with the boys. We had "finger foods" for dinner. Cheeses, baguette, water crakers, bread sticks, grapes, strawberries, and olives. All my boys were stuffed and happy. I opened a 2002 Willakenzie but it didn't open up, so I had to settle for an everyday Shiraz. Nothing to write home about, not bad either. 2002 Rex Goliath. Only $4.99, so not bad for the price. I took the day off. Worked out in the am. Went to Nordies and shopped- then took hubby and Z-man to see "Hitch". Cute movie. Laughed the whole time. Overall, a good couple of days.

KC,
I just signed up for the Sea Smoke mailing list--have to wait until next fall as current releases are sold out. I listed you as someone who recommended Sea Smoke (not sure I have WW's e-mail address or I could have listed both of you). Don't know if that brings you any rewards--it ought to be worth at least one free bottle but I don't know what the rules are.)

I doubt there's any finder's fee, or whatever. Just hope you like the wine, cause it's really nice juice. It's not quite Bucko's style, not austere enough.

Not quite the big, Syrah-like wine like most of those other Central Coast PN's. It's a lot more restrained, but still recognizable as what it is.
