yep, this is the black diamond label, which i picked up for $9.99.

opened and let breathe for 30 minutes, then poured. muted nose of berries. sipped. muted berry flavor giving way to a little spice. put back down and waited another 30 minutes. BINGO! nice nose of berries and cherry. taste of same, plus spice on the nice finish. this wine is round and ready to drink now. and the last glass an hour and a half after opening the bottle tasted even better than the previous glass. WS gave this wine an 89 and i think that's warranted. wine isn't remarkably complex, but d--- it tastes good. hard to believe rosemount could make over 1.1 million cases of this stuff.

and please make sure that when you try this wine, let it breathe an hour before taking that first sip. you'll be glad you did.

Noted today that my local Costco, which usually has tons of this for sale at $9, has moved it from it's 'prominent' corner position and marked the price down to $7.99. No longer have a ton of it, either, there were maybe 6 cases left. Since I already have a case hidden away downstairs, I just grabbed a couple more before they run out. At less than $8, this 2000 bottling is one heckuva 'tasty drop'.

Served the 2000 Cab/Merlot at the party after CB's Moms wake. It went over like I had blown the inheritance. At 7.99 case price. Delicious juice. WW
