2001 Finca L'Argata

A Joan D'Anguera wine. 40% Syrah, 35% Cabernet Sauvignon, 15% Garnacha, 10% Carignan. This is my best buy/steal wine ever. Beautifully ellegant and tastes like a big $$ good Napa Meritage. Layers of blackberry, currant, raspberry, touch of spice and chocolate. Well balanced and full bodied. I couldn't stay away from the bottle. 14%Alc/vol. $15 at my fav wine shop. Now, I believe this was a special allocation and I don't know the availability of this wine but it's worth twice the price and then some.

The '02 is sitting on the shelves down here. Given this report, I'll pick it up next time I'm out. I had been avoiding it due to the poor vintage, but this '01 sounds right up my alley. I'll give it a try and post. Thanks for the note!
