Faxcy, welcome to the Board. You will find the cooking portion of your question answered in the following thread from last November:

http://www.wines.com/ubb2/Forum37/HTML/000642.html

As for what to drink, it's really a matter of taste 'n learn. When I have a question about what to drink with a certain food or simply want some different ideas, then I type the name of the food in the Search function on this site & see what other Board members have suggested in previous discussions. Otherwise, I post a specific question in the Wine/Food Affinities section of this site.

Two other somewhat helpful sites for food/wine pairing are:
http://www.wineresearch.com/wr-cgi/food_search.asp
http://www.winetoday.com/wineguide/food_and_wine/wg_fw_main.html

Cheers, cp
