I've been looking for some splits for nights i need a little sip but can't get my wife to join me...
Just found 12 bottles of 2005 Duboeuf beaujolais-villages for...
wait for it...

$2.69 a bottle.

Should still be drinking ok for another 6 months i figure. If only they had the moulin-a-vent for that!

I've been on a 1/2 bottle run myself lately. Been picking up a number of cheap 1/2 bottles. Strub Rieslings for $6.00, Mission Hill 187mil Vidal Icewines for $15,..some cheaper and the most expensive ate the 1/2 bottles of the 2005 Beaucastels at $47.99. I was in a SAQ (Quebec government liqour store) this morning and nearly bought a number of nice 2000 bordeauxs that they had.....except I could not carry them into a meeting I was having later....grrrr.....

Got around to the first of the 05 b-villages today, the first snow (ice really) day of the year for our school district.
nose is simple, pure raspberry jam. The wine is maybe starting to fade a tiny bit, but nothing wrong with it at all. Light-bodied with blackberry and black pepper makes a simple and pleasant mouthfull of wine.
I could ask for nothing more considering the price.
