Canadian Wine Awards

For all you poor, underprivileged folks who rarely get to sample any of the fine wines from British Columbia, here is a small sample of some of the BC wines that won honours at the recent Canadian Wine Award competition, where, I might add, BC wines won aproximately 150 medals out of 250 in total. Ontario, eat your heart out !

1. Cedar Creek 2000 Estate Select Chardonnay
(Note that Cedar Creek also won the "Winery of the Year" award.)
2. Mission Hill 2000 Cabernet Merlot
3. Mission Hill 2001 Pinot Blanc
4. Inniskillin Okanagan 2000 Bull Pine Vineyard
5. Hawthorne 2001 Chardonnay
6. Quail's Gate 2000 Limited Reserve Pinot Noir.

All are highly recommended, if you should be so lucky as to find them. All are available here in BC.
