First of all, I wanted to say hi, since this is my first post in the forum. Great site I’d have to say.

I wanted to ask you about some recommendations for Riesling Wines. I’m a big fan of German ones (not very dry ones), but I’d like to know which ones you would consider to be great buys, or worth trying, or worth searching for…

Welcome aboard. You will find a lot fo riesling postings in the riesling part of this forum. I am a big fan of this grape.

I'm not sure what is shipped to Columbia so I'm going to stick to some larger producers. For value for the money, the 2003 Dr. Loosen L SCrewcap Riesling is really hard to beat. It tastes almost like a Spatlese (in terms of the sugar content being higher) so it is a really good value for about $10 USD.

I like the wines of J.J. Prum and of J.J. Christoffel Erben but they tend to be expensive because of their fine reputation. Donhoff also falls into this category. For better bargains you might look for Leitz Drachenstein or Dragonstone Riesling, Lingenfelder "Bird Label" or the wines of Gunderloch.
