I am fairly novice, but have always enjoyed a good full bodied red wine. The red I tried tonight however was just amazing. For only about $14. Here's my description: silky, velvety, fairly full-bodied but not too heavy. It was just amazing and seemed to go down so smoothly. - 2003 Coats de Roam, South Africa. (I'll be looking out for more very soon!) Anybody else try this?

Welcome to the WineBoard. If you go down to the folder below with South African wines, you can search on "roam" and find numerous posts on this wine.

Welcome to the Wine Board from another Atlantan.

Just to avoid any confusion when you go looking for it, the name is "Goats do Roam," a witty wordplay on Cotes du Rhone. It has widespread availability in Atlanta -- don't know where you're at, but I know they have it at Tower on Piedmont in Buckhead.

Wow, $14, that seems kind of steep. Sure it wasn't the Goats do Roam in Villages?
