2001 Periquita JM da Fonseca

Did another quick stroll through another LCBO/Vintages wine store in Toronto and picked this up for $7.50 CDN or about $6.00 USD.

Did a quick internet search and apparently made from Castelão Frances grape, an indigenous variety from southern Portugal.

I was not expecting much but wanted to try. Floral and fruity nose, garnet in colour. This wine tastes of dark and red fruits, a nice juicy drink that was an extremely straight forward drink. Great bargain for the price though.
