99 m. trinchero family selection cab

($7.99) bright garnet color. nice nose, with cherries leading the way among bright red fruits, along with herbs and cedar. tastes of same plus a hint of chocolate. soft tannins are minimal, and finish is decent. more wine than you'd expect at this price, which was a special. (regular price is $10 at this shop and i've seen it as high as $12). i'd drink it over the next 2-3 years. 85/87.
