Cherries and black pepper with a hint of green mint characterize this one from the Gard region of the Southern Rhone. Delightful with red beans and rice (with a liberal dose of Tabasco) and salad of fresh spinach and mushrooms.

This appears to be the product of a village co-op; I can't find the name of a specific vigneron anywhere on the label. The price was very reasonable at $10.99.

Scrounged this from the cellar a couple of days ago to accompany BBQ'd brisket & chicken w/fixin's purchased from a local chain called Bill Miller's Barbecue (due to lack of time to smoke my own). The wine is showing a faint browning at the rim and a hint of cranberries on the nose and palate, which have added complexity and interest. Now on the second bottle this week with only one left that I could see. Sure wish I had a couple of cases.

Waited too long. Last bottle is now dead. Deader. Deadest. Swim with the fishes.
