'02 Terra Rouge Roussanne

2002 Terra Rouge, Sierra Foothills, Roussanne ($22 Winery). Alcohol level: 14.5%.

It gives you gold in the eye. Also provides very ripe pears, some apricots, and wild flower tea on the nose and upfront. As it courses through the middle you find more fruit, a taste of honey, some minerality, and a trace of oak. It finishes long and wonderfully.

We matched it with a shrimp stir fry with brown Basmati rice, and the match went perfectly.
