I'm looking for pairings for two different dishes.
One, a picnic meal: buttermilk fried chicken with a dijon pasta salad.
Two: filet mignon on the grill with a very mild, tomato-ey salsa.

I think that innkeeper gave you 2 great suggestions. I honestly would not want to use a really good wine on a picnic unless it was with someone very special to you. That's just me though LOL
