2001 Chateau Mas Neuf, Costieres De Nimes (Gift). This one is from Southern France in the style of Cotes de Province. It was dark garnet to the eye, with red fruit (raspberries, strawberries, et al) on the nose and upfront. So rich across the palate that it almost seems sweet, yet the acidity still stands out. Sort of all comes together on the lovely finish. Very, very nice! We matched it with fillet steaks in rasher grilled over charcoal with mesquite chips, and salad in freshly made blue cheese dressing. What a way to spend a Monday night!
