2005 Mas de Guiot VdP du Gard Grenache/Syrah

This one is 60% Syrah and 40% Grenache, 13.5% alc/vol and about $9, a bit more than I remembered but still a nice price.

Dark in the glass, with Grenache funk on the nose.... beautiful, weighty, serious nose.... red and black fruit on the palate, unfiltered, with robust tannins to give it longevity, drying moderate finish leaving the tastebuds shouting "more!" Very nice QPR. A Robert Kacher Selection, as was its sister wine the Cab/Syrah noted earlier from the same house. Would love to be able to make an affordable wine like this!
