Coteaux du Languedoc, with grilled salmon in herbed lemon butter and mixed oven-roasted veggies (asparagus, yellow squash, zucchini, red onion, garlic, red pepper). A clean, crisp white with a touch of lemon, but not the "lip-stinger" suggested by the name. 13% ABV and $7.99 at the discounter. An SW to stock up on when you find it.

Served the '05 version of this staple last night to our small church group's regular Sunday evening dinner. Everyone brought a salad of some sort, so the Picpoul hit the spot. Even some who clamored for red wine when they came in the door soon raved about it. We went through three bottles for nine wine-drinkers, and hit the cellar for another as "take-home" for one couple who really loved it. Good gathering, even though it became a wake for one member killed in an auto accident on Wednesday.

Have y'all seen that this producer also sells picpoul as a premium bag-in-a-box offering?

I haven't seen the Hugues bottles locally, but I can find the box of La Petite Frog Picpoul. $34 or so per box equals $8.50 per 750ml so the discounted bottles @ $7.99 you're getting are a better buy.
No idea if there's a big quality/taste difference in the juice between the two, but you might want to leave glassware behind sometime and still have some 'lip stinger'. I'm happy to see some premium juice showing up in this 'cask' packaging. Nice to have choices.

Had the '05 Picpoul last night with grilled Alaskan cod and mixed salad. Still clean and crisp, very nice.
