Here's the fifth vacation wine.

1998 Chateau Cabrieres Chateauneuf-du-Pape $17

I was a little dissapointed with this wine and maybe expected too much knowing WS's rating. Subtle nose of raspberry and blackberry mixed with milk chocolate and mushroom/earth scents. Very smooth mouth feel and very balanced flavors of dark fruit, sweet vanilla and milk chocolate with some mineral and earth notes. A very nice Rhone but not a WS Spectator Selection 90 pointer. I actually thought that the 98 Chateau De La Negly at $9 was a much better wine. Still a very nice CDP.
