The blend is 70% Grenache, 20% Mourvedre and 10% Cinsault. A bit funky on opening but quickly resolving in the glass with a nose of ripe red fruit, dark leather and underlying spices. More of the same on the palate with lip-smacking red & black fruit, nice mouthfeel. Moderate finish. 14.5% alc/vol and a give-away $7.99 at Costco. Stock up, but be patient when serving and let it breathe in the glass for an hour or so before dinner. We paired it with a Saturday night omelet of fresh eggs, 'shroom, peppers, grated cheddar and onions. Very nice indeed.

I really need to get some of those cheapie '07 CdR's. I've been bad about that this year, and in such a good vintage!

Gil, Jane. Matt -- Thanks for posting on this, guys. Since Verne left, we've had a tremendous dearth of posts. Well, Drew's been posting, and he's to be commended for that, but we're still really missing Veerne's posts!!!!!!!!!

Any way that we can get Verne back? I miss the old fella. Learned a lot from Mr. Verne.

Ol' Fumblefingers is a most prodigious consumer whose fractured notes we can't really do without. Maybe he'll respond to Texican....

HEY, YOU OLD FART! GET OFF YER ARSE AND POST!

Yea, he's just acting like an Ole Poo. Talked to him yesterday about the U.S Open but didn't discuss the board. He's doing fine. Sounds like a nice wine Gil, I'm not seeing as much Rhone wines as I use to in these here parts.

Drew
