2001 Wente Syrah

Dark in the glass with a restrained nose of crushed blackberry and creme de chambord. The dark cherry and blackberry flavors were a little subdued and I thought somewhat lacking but the wine displayed a very nice smokiness that was very enjoyable. All in all, a nice wine for $10. 13.5%Alc/vol.
